JOINT TOWN/VILLAGE OF CLAYTON COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

Find the current Joint Town/Village Comprehensive Plan here: JOINT TOWN-VILLAGE OF CLAYTON COMPREHENSIVE PLAN v2017 and the maps may be found HERE. The previous version of the plan can be found at this link: Previous Version of Joint Comprehensive Plan v2000

What is the Comprehensive Plan?

The Comprehensive Plan is the community’s vision for its future. The Plan guides future growth in a responsible manner that results in quality development and redevelopment consistent with Clayton’s character. The Town’s Comprehensive Plan includes policies and objectives that when implemented, will help achieve the goals of the Town.

Comprehensive Planning works to provide a perspective beyond current events. It involves researching long-term issues affecting land use plus gathering statistics on population, income and employment to assess trends. Citizen surveys are conducted to gather public input. The research and survey information is then analyzed and forwarded to a citizen advisory committee who drafts the Comprehensive Plan text and maps for review by the Joint Planning Board, Village Board and Town Council, who then adopts the Comprehensive Plan after conducting a public hearing.
